You’re not selfish or a bad person because you want to have more. The struggle is real for women who deeply care about their careers and families and don’t want to choose and give up either of those.
It’s the guilt of missing bedtime/a school performance for a meeting.
It’s the fear that taking a break means falling behind.
It’s the pressure to work like you don’t have kids—and parent like you don’t have a job.
It’s the feeling of shame when you ask for flexible work.
It’s the silent resentment of always being the default parent.
It’s the Sunday night dread, knowing the week ahead is a nonstop sprint.
It’s the exhaustion of doing everything for everyone—and still feeling like it’s not enough.
It’s the bittersweet moment when your child says, “Mummy, are you done working yet?”
It’s the guilt of leaving your kids in front of the tablet longer than they should.
It’s the weight of an overflowing to-do list, but no time for yourself.
It’s wondering if you’re failing at both—when all you want is to be good at both.
It’s the unspoken loneliness of feeling like you’re the only one struggling.
