Monday Mindset Check-In: Kindness (towards ourselves)
Last week, I wasn’t feeling well. I had a list of things I wanted to get done, and as the days went by and the to-do list remained mostly untouched, I noticed something…
I was starting to beat myself up.
"You should feel better by now."
"You should be getting on with things."
"You should push through."
"You’re falling behind."
It took me a moment to pause and listen to that voice, that inner critic. And then I realised something important:
I would NEVER speak to someone else like that, especially someone I care about. So why was I speaking to myself that way?
We often talk about kindness as something we extend to others. But how often do we practise kindness towards ourselves?
🌸 Being kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned.
🌸 Speaking to yourself with compassion when you’re not at your best.
🌸 Letting yourself rest without guilt.
It’s a mindset shift - and not always an easy one. But it’s so necessary. Especially for women who are juggling a lot - career, family, expectations, and the high standards we often set for ourselves.
So today, I’m reminding myself (and maybe you too?):
✨ Self-kindness isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity.
✨ You are allowed to slow down.
✨ You are worthy, even when you’re not doing or achieving.
💬 How are you being kind to yourself this week?
