These questions can help you (re-)discover your strengths. When you lean into your strengths, you feel more confident, satisfied and happy.
When I use a skill I’m naturally good at, I feel I have more energy and I feel a lot better in my skin. Proud, accomplished, less stressed.
I’ve noticed that when I use my strengths, I feel I can do anything, and I want to try new ways of doing things, be more creative.
In short: it motivates me, drives me, makes me feel authentic and stronger, it makes me feel good.
So, grab a pen and a coffee and take a few minutes with these questions:
1. What’s something I’ve achieved in the past that made me proud?
(What skills or qualities helped me accomplish it?)
2. What do people often come to me for help with?
(This could be a sign of a strength you take for granted.)
3. What activities leave me feeling energised and fulfilled?
(Where do you feel most in flow?)
4. What challenges have I overcome?
(What strengths did I rely on to move through them?)
5. When was the last time I felt truly confident?
(What were you doing, and what did that reveal about your natural talents?)
Last week, in a coaching session, it was heart-warming to see someone re-discover her strengths and re-connect with who she really was.
She kept repeating a behaviour that was based on her fear of rejection and she truly beat herself up about it. She realised that she had tried to be someone who she thought she should be. This had held her back from thinking bigger for herself. When she realised her strengths, she felt so much lighter and confident about the week ahead. She had a plan.
Finding and using your strengths can give you that push to become more aware of your situation and be more intentional about your decisions.
💬 What strengths are you leaning into this week? Let me know in the comments.
