Done is better than perfect

ree

When I was pregnant with my twins and attended antenatal classes (a long time ago now), I was told again and again:

“Done is better than perfect.”

At the time, I didn’t quite get it.

But I've been hearing this message a lot lately, and it's so true.

I was told to get help with the house chores, take shortcuts where needed - and most importantly, to stop trying to do it all perfectly.

Perfection is a moving target.

No matter how much I try, there will always be something I could’ve done better - a neater home, a more polished presentation, a healthier meal.

But what if good enough is enough?

Perfectionism can keep us stuck.

I know, I have been procrastinating because of it. It delayed my goals, drained my energy, and chipped away at my confidence.

We hesitate to speak up in meetings, launch that project, or delegate a task… because we fear it won’t be flawless.

But progress doesn’t come from perfect.

It comes from action. From done. From giving ourselves permission to be human.

So today, I want to remind you:

Done is better than perfect.

Especially when you’re leading, growing, and balancing so many hats.

You don’t need to prove anything through perfection.

You’re already doing more than enough.

👉 If you’re a high-achieving woman navigating career and motherhood, and perfectionism is keeping you stuck or overwhelmed - I’m here to help. Let’s talk.
